Connie Brown is a Connecticut based artist, who’s abstract paintings reflect the relationship between form and color. Her long experience as a figurative three-dimensional artist informs her preference for sensual, amorphic, and monumental shapes. Twenty years ago, Brown began teaching painting and drawing to homeless adults. It was at that point she decided to transform her idea of the sculpted figure into painting, with color being the driving force. Brown graduated from the The University of Arizona with a BFA in studio art. She has exhibited in Connecticut and New York and is an artist member of The Painting Center in NYC and the Silvermine Guild of Artists, New Canaan, CT. Brown’s paintings are in the Stamford Hospital collection. She currently lives and works in Connecticut.
